Information Technology
Residents have the option of accessing the Monash IT network and the Internet from the computer room or through the network ports available in every bedroom. Non-Monash students can apply to access the Monash network at the Mannix Front Office.
Many residents bring their own PC or Mac to access the network from their bedroom. Appointed students with specialist skills in IT are available to help students with their computer set-up and other computer problems.
Alternatively, residents have access to our computer room 24 hours a day. The room is equipped with seven PCs running Windows 2000 or XP, a colour scanner, a laser printer and a wide range of software.
All residents are charged for their internet usage, whether they access the internet in their room or from a computer lab. The charges are calculated on the amount of 'bytes' downloaded.

The Sir Michael Chamberlin Library, located next to the administration wing of Mannix College, holds a collection of more than 11,000 volumes and is available for student use at any time. It is always maintained as a quiet place to read and study.
In addition to reference and general books, which include both non-fiction and fiction, a special collection has been established for medical students. Computer, printing and photocopying facilities are provided.
The Librarian, Dr. Simon Caterson, is available to assist with all aspects of academic research and writing.
Common Rooms
The Junior Common Room (JCR)
The Junior Common Room is a major focus of community life, offering room for relaxation. There is a large TV/DVD projector screen, a pool table and at times the foosball table is taken out for a spin. It is the scene for many functions, including the annual play, music extravaganza, college parties, after-ball parties and general meetings of College students. Foxtel is available through the projected TV screen, as well as other TVs throughout the College.
The Corridor Common Rooms
Each floor has its own Common Room, decorated to reflect its individuality and culture. They all have TV/DVD, Foxtel connection, comfortable furniture and are a favoured meeting place among the residents.
The Senior Common Room (SCR)
Tutors, senior residents, resident advisers and academic visitors are able to relax in a collegial atmosphere in the SCR. Seminars and forums are often held there, too.
Chapel
Mass is said in the Chapel every Sunday evening during term time. It is also said in the University Religious Centre on a daily basis. Prayer services are held at other times throughout the week, and the Chapel is made available for other groups, both within and outside the College, for appropriate uses.
The Chapel is always open, offering a peaceful retreat for students and tutors at any time.
Laundries
Laundry facilities are provided on the top floors of each wing. Washing machines ($2 per wash), dryers ($1), drying rooms and ironing facilities are all located there. Residents only need to wash and dry their own clothes and towels, as bed linen is provided and laundered by the College.
