Academic Support

Mannix College 's learning model, known as the Intentional Learning Community, steers the College's programmes to encourage members to learn and develop their intellectual and living skills broadly as part of their living experience within the College. The high levels of academic support provided are a feature of living at Mannix College , and provide a holistic learning experience while studying at Monash University .

Tutors, approved by the University Faculties, provide a strong academic support network for all Mannix College students. Tutorials covering the key university subjects are offered to residents as additional support throughout the academic year. Personal consultations and organised study groups are also offered.

Faculty nights, where the students' lecturers and senior academics from each of the faculties are invited to Formal Dinner at the College, provide excellent opportunities for students to meet and get to know their lecturers better. It also adds to the collegial nature of the College, where issues and ideas are discussed in a convivial environment, and bonds with members of the university are made and developed.

Mannix College has extensive academic resources that are available to all members. The Library holds a wide range of contemporary fiction, non fiction and reference material, as well as an impressive medical and bio-medical collection and study aids. The Computer Room is open for student use 24 hours a day and several tutorial rooms may be used for private and group study. Music rooms for practice are also available.
