Mannix Environmental
Protection Agency (MEPA)
MEPA is Mannix's environment group formed by a vibrant, active and fun group of students who belive Kermit the Frog was wrong - it is easy to being green.
MEPA is commited to making Mannix more environmentally sustainable. So far, MEPA has organised college energy audits and has taken action on suggestions to save power and water, introduced an effective recycling program throughout the college and run some great awareness and social nights (port & cheese nights being a particular favourite) including guests speakers to raise awareness on environmental issues.
MEPA looks forward to making further improvements and using an established fund to make a real difference around the College. On the cards is the installation of water tanks to collect rainwater for the use in the gardens and exploring the installation of solar panels.
MEPA has regular informal meetings as will be announced during the year and can't wait to see you there.
St. Vincent de Paul Society

The ‘St Vinnie’s’ Society at Mannix College is a substantial group of socially aware students dedicated to aiding the less fortunate through fundraising and hands-on volunteer work.
An ongoing commitment for St Vinnie’s at Mannix is our canteen open three nights a week in the junior common room. The shop raises a weekly contribution whilst also maintaining sugar levels throughout the college!
St Vinnie’s meetings will be announced during the year. |
